Birth Control Pills

This option for birth control consists of pills taken daily. These pills contain a hormone that prevents ovulation leading to undesired conception. While effective, this option has a higher margin for error regarding missed dosage. Speak with your doctor about different birth control pill options.

NUVA Ring®

This option of contraceptive consists of a plastic ring inserted into the vagina. This ring is worn for the first three weeks of your menstrual cycle to release contraceptive hormones. This method of birth control has a smaller chance of error than pills but requires more effort with inserting and removal.

Intrauterine Device (IUD)

An IUD is an effective birth control device that is inserted into your cervix. This device is a long-term option for contraception, which makes it ideal for adolescent birth control. These devices need to be replaced anywhere from three to six years, period depending on the specific brand.
